Hein Houbraken: Cleared Manure Pits and Richer Manure

Netherlands 2019: Three years ago, Hein Houbraken was struggling with thick solid manure in his manure pits. The slatted deck was clogging and Houbraken was unable to empty the pits. He solved the problem by treating the deck with BioAktiv Liquid Manure and added BioAktiv Salis in the feed. Separating the manure is now more efficient and the flies are reduced. [Report]

EvoAktiv: “How BioAktiv deals with it!”

USA 2017: EcoAktiv, the BioAktiv distributor in USA, explained how BioAktiv works in his report BioAktiv Liquid Manure — Mode of Action and video Microbes under the Microscope.

Brazil: A Trial at Languiru Coop Farm

Brazil 2014: BioAktiv Brasil conducted a month-long trial at a pig farm of Languiru Cooperative, a major producer of meat, poultry and dairy products in Brazil .  They applied BioAktiv for Liquid Manure (sold as EcoAktiv) to a house for 800 piglets and used a house for fattening pigs as control. The BioAktiv-treated piglet house had much lower ammonia concentration than the untreated fattening pig house. [Summary] [Report]

Brazil: BioAktiv Halves Ammonia Emissions in a Dairy Goat Farm

Brazil 2014: BioAktiv Brasil conducted a study in a 400 m2 shed housing 120 dairy goats. They took the initial ammonia concentration in the shed before and after treating the shed floor with 1 kg of BioAktiv for Liquid Manure and feeding the goats 1.5 g/animal/week of BioAktiv Animal Feed. The ammonia concentration in the shed rose and peaked at about 15 ppm 28 days after the BioAktiv treatments. Then it dropped by a half which was slightly lower than the initial value. [Summary][Report]

Brazil: BioAktiv Cuts Ammonia Emission in a Dairy Cow Farm

Brazil 2014: BioAktiv Brasil carried out a study on two open-air sheds in a dairy cow farm. One shed, housing 75 cows, had two 140 m3 manure tanks and the other, housing 29 heifers, had a 100 m3 manure tank. They took ammonia concentration measurements before and after treating the three manure tanks with 1 kg BioAktiv for Liquid Manure and started feeding the cattle 1.5 g/animal/day of BioAktiv Animal Feed.  Thereafter the ammonia concentration of the cow shed dropped continuously until to about 60% lower at the end of the study.  There was no similar trend in the heifer shed due probably to strong airflow affected the ammonia concentration measurements. Czech Republic: BioAktiv Loosens Up Hardened Manure Sludge Layer

Kostomlaty nad Labem 2013: Two concrete manure pits in Kostomlaty nad Labem village each had a volume of 800 m3. A layer of hardened sludge filled three-quarters of one of the pits, while the other pit had 1 m thick of hardened sludge, The workers treated the pits with 25 kg BioAktiv for Liquid Manure in 10,000 litres of water into the hardened sludge on 15 August, 30 August and 20 September 2013. The hardened sludge loosened up into the liquid manure slurry, which the workers easily pumped away. [Report]

Czech Republic: BioAktiv Solves the Problem of an Underground Manure Tank

Mělnické Vtelno 2013: Farmer Linhart had an underground manure tank with a capacity of 100 m3. He had a problem for years to clear the largely inaccessible hardened sludge at the tank bottom. By applying 5 kg BioAktiv for Liquid Manure in 1,000 litres of water into the hardened sludge through a steel pipe on 27 May and 25 June 2013, he solved the problem in two months. The sludge layer loosened up and the farm workers could easily removed it. He fed the sows, piglets and fattening pigs in his farm BioAktiv for better performance, lower ammonia emissions and more homogenous manure slurry. [Report]

Czech Republic: Agropodnik Znojmo Use BioAktiv Feed and Manure Products

Mašovice 2013: Agropodnik Znojmo, a.s. first applied BioAktiv for Animal Feed and BioAktiv for Liquid Manure in their 5,000-fattening-pig farm in Jezeřany village. About a month later, the manure slurry in pits in the farm and storage tanks in Vítkovice village became homogenous. There were no solid deposits in manure channels and pits, and they no longer needed the costly flushing. Tests on the slurry showed that its contents met standards. After the successful application, they did the same in a farm in Strachotice village that kept sows and piglets. The slurry began to bubble and became homogenous after the application. They continued applying the BioAktiv products in more farms. [Report]

Russia: A Testimonial from the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences

Moscow 2012: Pedigree Poultry Farm of the academy used its Salmet plant to process poultry droppings into fertiliser. They testified that adding BioAktiv for Liquid Manure (50 g/tonne) into poultry droppings significantly accelerated the decomposition process; significantly reduced ammonia and other foul gas emissions (by 80-90%), resolving the complaints from the neighbourhood; reduced the number of flies; and improved the quality of fertiliser produced. Russia: A Trial at Atemarskaya Poultry Facility

Russia 2011: The Russian BioAktiv distributor, OOO BioAktiv, in collaboration with chief agronomist IF Glukhov and agronomist ON Naumkin, conducted a trial at Atemarskaya Poultry Facility. They reported on 30 June 2011 that the ammonia and hydrogen sulphide concentration of the heap of poultry manure treated with BioAktiv for Liquid Manure (30 g/tonne) were 3 g/m3 and 0.01 g/m3 respectively and that of the untreated heap were 40 g/m3 and 1 g/m3. [Report]

Australia: BioAktiv Solves the Main Concern of a Huge Composting Plant

Australia 2004: The Basset Bark Composting Facility, one of the largest in Queensland, Australia, treated its 8-9 megalitre storm water containment pond with BioAktiv for Liquid Manure on 18 March 2004. Germany: A Study by VTI Thuringian Process Engineering Institute

Germany 2003: VTI Thuringian Process Engineering Institute for Environment and Energy e.V. conducted a test on samples of liquid manure treated and untreated by BioAktiv and left to biodegrade with and without a bacterial culture. The results showed that, without the bacteria culture, the dry matter and H2S contents of BioAktiv-treated sample were a half and 20% those of untreated sample. [Summary] [Report]

Netherlands: BioAktiv Cuts Ammonia Emissions by 45% in a Pig Farm

Netherlands 1998: The Agricultural Research Department, Institute for Environmental and Agritechnics in the Netherlands conducted a study on two identical partitions from a same house each housing 60 pigs. In the test partition, they fed the pigs and treated the floor with BioAktiv Powder. There were no such treatments in the other partition. The measurements showed that, after treating with BioAktiv, the ammonia concentration in the test partition had reduced by 45%. [Summary] [Report]

Germany: BioAktiv Halves Ammonia and Methane in 24 Hours

Germany 1994: Germany Saxon State Institute for Agriculture did a study involving a house holding 550 fattening pigs. They measured various gas concentrations with 27 gas-detecting sensors before and after treating the house floor with 2 g/animal of BioAktiv Powder. The study revealed that 24 and 48 hours after the treatment the ammonia concentration in the air was 50% and 16% lower respectively. Nitrous oxide was 40% and 21%, carbon dioxide was 47% and 33% and methane was 50% and 27% lower respectively. [Summary] [Report 1] [Report 2]
